My name is Jacqueline Mens, artist, painting and drawing teacher, and art therapist.
In my studio in Voorschoten, I work with color, form and mixed media as an entry point to what lives within us. Painting, for me, is a way to slow down, to explore, and to make visible what often has no words yet.

My approach

In both my work and my classes, intuitive and abstract painting are central. I mainly work with acrylics and mixed media, where layering, transparency and texture can play an important role.

My paintings develop step by step, through a process of searching, sensing and responding. Sometimes quiet and subtle, sometimes bold and expressive, but always connected to the moment.

What you can experience

In my painting courses and workshops in Voorschoten and the surrounding area, I guide you to work more freely and to discover your own visual language. Classes are in Dutch but I am already used to teaching an English student; I don't mind to translate for you!

You will explore:

• intuitive painting and letting go of control
• working with color, contrast and composition
• experimenting with materials and techniques
• trusting your own process

No experience is needed. You are welcome just as you are.

My art 

My paintings move between inner experience and abstraction. Intuitively, figurative elements or suggestions of landscape may emerge.

Color plays a central role, often combined with soft transitions and layered structures.

Each piece is a unique translation of a moment, a feeling, or an inner landscape.
